Tennis' 2013 U.S. Open is here. Well, not exactly, but the arrangements for the bracket will begin today. Both Men's and Women's Singles brackets will be set today as last year's champions will do the honors of choosing the 2013 U.S. Open seedings Thursday afternoon. Check out the live stream available, enabling fans everywhere to watch the U.S. Open draw free online.
Andy Murray and Serena Williams will do the honors. The irony? They will be picking the players who will be gunning after the defending champions. Will Murray and Williams both successfully defend their titles? It was less than a year ago that both of these popular tennis players mastered the courts in Queens to win the tournament.
For Murray, it was a triumphant return to a tennis major. He was crushed after losing at Wimbledon 2012. After gaining confidence in the 2012 Olympics, which were held at the All English Club, Murray defeated Novak Djokovic in five sets. It was a pretty dramatic match as the Scot won the first two sets only to see Djokovic rally back and tie the match. Murray somehow kept his cool, winning the last set to take home his first grand slam title. Murray has continued to play great tennis as he finally got the monkey off his back by winning Wimbledon 2012.
Williams has also had her share of success and disappointments. She took the 2013 French Open in dominant fashion. Despite losing at Wimbledon this year, she is still considered the best female tennis player. When healthy and not extra confident, Williams is unbeatable. Last year, she defeated Victoria Azarenka in three sets; 6-2, 2-6, 7-5.
Watch Williams and Murray live today at 12 p.m. ET as the U.S. Open draw will be taking place.
